NHE February 2021 News

Hello NHE Families,

We hope everyone is well and truly appreciate your patience and flexibility during this hockey season.  Despite the impact of COVID-19, our goal was to offer your player an opportunity to play hockey, stay active and offer a sense of “normalcy” to their lives.  You have helped us make this a reality during unprecedented circumstances.  Thank you!

We are writing to provide an update on some exciting news that we wanted to share for your benefit:

Refunds

Some of you may know that we provided our Split Season Midget Teams (U18 and U16 players) with refunds back in December. Because of state restrictions, we were prevented from offering interstate games.  We were also forced to pause hockey operations for two weeks early in the season as part of a state mandated “reset”.  We assessed what our costs were for the season against what we collected from tuition and were able to provide pro-rated team by team refunds back to each player in good standing.

We are in the process of issuing those same pro-rated refunds for the remaining players in our organization.  We anticipate that checks will be mailed in the next few weeks. Be on the look-out as we will send checks via mail.  Please help us by ensuring that the address we have on file in the online registration system is accurate.

Try-out Dates and Times

We have just posted the 2021-2022 Season Try-out dates and times.  We have and will make every effort to ensure we follow COVID-19 protocols and try and reduce player risk and limit contact in the rink. Please visit our website to see the Try-out times and make sure you pre-register.

New Girls Program

This season we fielded NHE’s first all-girls team, our U16 team. This team played unbelievably well and earned a spot in the USA Hockey New England Regionals which are scheduled for April 2021. We wish them well.

Because of this team’s success, and feedback and outreach from other parents, we will be rostering a team at each age level for the 2021-2022 season. Again, we anticipate that these teams will be very competitive.  To learn more, and register for the try-outs, please visit our website.  Additionally, if you know of any players who would have interest in our new program, please let them know!

High School Players

We also wanted to give a shout-out to the many NHE players who are currently playing for their respective high school teams.  If you get a chance to watch a game, or read a newspaper article, you’ll notice that many of the players that are excelling on the ice are NHE players and alumni.  Congratulations to the players and their parents!! We are very proud of you!

Coaches and Volunteers

If any of you have interest in coaching next season, being a team parent, or helping NHE in any way, we are always looking for help.  Feel free to contact our Director of Hockey, Cam Stoddard if you have interest or have questions.

Social Media

NHE is creating a new presence on Social Media that has not been there over the last few seasons. We would love for everyone to follow us and share the news! We will use these platforms for important updates, news, and general information. Facebook- New Hampshire East Eagles, Instagram- NHE_Hockey, and Twitter NHE_Hockey.

As the end of the 2020-2021 season begins to draw near, we look forward to hearing about the teams’ success in the play-offs and as always want your feedback on how the season went, and anything we can do to improve the experience.

Again, wanted to wish all of our players, parents, coaches, and family members good health and continued success both on and off the ice.

Your friends at NHE.
